The following messages were sent following Len's passing:

Darius Engineer, India

My condolences to Len's family on his sad demise. He came to India in 1987 and 1993 and blew everybody's minds with his flying skills. Not only was he a great aeromodeller but a very fine gentleman. I will always remember him as an ever smiling person no matter what. he was a pioneer in the model Helicopter arena and will be missed. May his soul rest in Peace.

Bartolome Costa Serra, Corsica

My deepest condolences to the entire family. Gone is a master of masters of scale helicopters. A beautiful and great person.

Thank you very much Len for all the teachings received and the good advice.

You will always be present in all of us.

Richard Zacharia, USA

I can’t tell you how sorry I am to hear about Len. I visited him in his home a while back and he stayed at my home on Long Island. He was a very special guy and taught me a lot about the hobby. I loved him and Olive. You just don’t find people as genuine as them very often.

Felippe Arenas, Spain

Dear Len,

thank you for your friendship and thanks for all the technical teachings on Scale Helicopters that you have shared from the first day with me and all of us our Club.

You will always be in our hearts “ with your smile and joy in your way of being”

This year we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of your Len Mount trophy and we will continue to celebrate it year after year in your honor.      R.I.P. dear Len

Harald Reiter (ex General Manager Flying Bulls)

Len was known to us all and especially to those in the field of model building as the renowned expert for the scale models of extraordinary helicopters.

Again and again he managed to produce models with such detail that even producers and pilots of full size helicopters were unable to detect any difference.

Len was continually looking for something different and with that in mind it was only a matter of time untill the four Red Bull operated BO-105s caught his attention. Two of these were in Salzburg's Flying Bulls and two in the US.

The BO-105 is in itself not an exceptional helicopter but it was the fact that these four helicopters were licensed by Red Bull for display flights that made them special. This was unique and worldwide a first! I assume that this was what prompted Len to get in touch with me in order to obtain permission for the copying of the BO-105. A Flying Bull helicopter being singled out for copying was for us a real honour.

Len visited us in Salzburg where we quickly came to an agreement and where all originals were documented and photographed in order to start the project.

As soon as we met we both realised that this professional relationship would also develop into a wonderfully close friendship despite the distance and the lack of frequent contact.

Len was soon known as "Sir" - just as we had imagined him to be given in England.

We were totally amazed when after an incredibly short time Len told us that he had already completed his model and was able to demonstrate it.

Len and Michael came to us in Salzburg's Flying Bull Hangar-8 with an enormous helicopter model in their van.

After a warm welcome the helicopter was closely examined and compared with the original but neither the technicians nor the pilots could detect any variation. Len had surpassed himself!

He had even developed and built an exact copy of a helicopter landing platform, remote controlled and ready to go. From this platform he started his BO-105 and circumnavigated the original helicopter on display in our Hangar-8. It was no doubt a slightly nervous moment for Len but a truly amazing experience for us all!

Len flew his BO-105 on frequent flight displays and competitions and collected numerous trophies and awards.

Eventually Len donated his BO-105 to us in Hangar-8 for display where it could be viewed directly next to the original helicopter.

My dear friend Len, you were unique in the world of helicopter scale model building but you were even more special as an exceptional person and friend.

You will be unforgettable in my memory and I will treasure your friendship forever - thank you. I wish you a good last flight!

Your friend Harry
